Cheshire Carr is a Montreal-based folk-rock band composed of Geneviève Cooke (vocals, percussion), Elie Flynn (guitars), Pierre Lavoie (vocals, drums, banjo), and Seb Francisque Ariel Harrod (vocals, guitar). Fusing their eclectic musical backgrounds, they combine intimate coffee shop folk with an energy of a festival jam band. Last November, they released their self-produced debut album, Odds and Ends, and they’ve now released an animated DIY video for Remember When.
With sweet and gentle harmonies and tender strings, the group reminisce about two majestic souls colliding and the inevitable massacre that would occur. You loved her with a desperate hunger and could feel a terrifying cruelty between you as time went. Then that tepid summer arrived when she whispered “I love you” with the taste of Kansas City in the back of her throat. In that moment, the journey died in a pale roar with your hope in the pyre at her feet with undeserving hands tied behind your back. Those pretty bones may never be yours again but things will get better before they begin.
Watch as two figures collide, drift, and die amongst hollow stars.
