Supa Bwe has been on a tear, with no signs of slowing down. His latest effort has him reuniting with another of Chicago’s finest and frequent collaborator, Mick Jenkins.
Breakfast & Chill sets the mood with its wavy and atmospheric instrumental, filled with a travel worn haze and longing to be home. Bwe croons to his special someone in that unique voice of his, about visiting when they get home. Although not quite a love song, there’s more substance here than that awful meme you see everywhere.
With a longer verse, Jenkin’s enters the scene with his deeper vocals and provides an almost necessary contrast, and one that catapults the song into another world. If you haven’t been already, now would be a good time to start paying attention to both Supa Bwe and Mick Jenkins.
