Lucky Daye’s backstory is like no other. Born and raised in New Orleans, Daye spent his youth in a religious cult with his mother and taught himself melodies through Bible Verses and Dr. Seuss rhymes. After managing to escape the group and finally being introduced to secular music, his life in Louisiana was washed and buried by Hurricane Katrina, forcing him to move to Texas. With his spirits set on a career in music, he travelled to Atlanta then Los Angeles where he linked up with Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II and everything started coming together. Daye would eventually sign with Keep Cool/RCA Records.
Following last years “I” EP, Daye linked up with Vevo for their live DSCVR series and played a of songs. Watch Daye bring Roll Some Mo to life with its intoxicating mix of old school meets new school.
“I” is available on Spotify.
