Cautious Clay seems incapable of creating anything that isn’t immaculate. Following the release of his music video for “Cold War” from his “Blood Type” EP, which caught the attention of some notable publications like Pitchfork, the emerging artist just announced a new EP and dropped the lead single, French Riviera.
Do it cus you know it don’t matter
Live it like you mean it whatever
Something bout intention that makes all the difference I wanna be different
Further displaying his poignant and eloquent lyrics, French Riviera features an array of percussion that bangs and dances with a dynamic flair. Pitched brass booms, stretching with a crunched gnarl that electrifies the coast and is joined by guitar solo in the final moment. Clay is leagues ahead of his peers and I rarely, if ever, say this, but I have no doubt he’s going to blow up.
Cautious Clay’s forthcoming EP, “Resonance”, is due out May 31.
