Coming off the release of the previously featured Good Intentions and On The Run, Quebec City-based singer/songwriter Liana has released her debut EP titled Prime Time.
Over the five tracks, Liana lures you through an R&B soundscape laden with pop notes and her soulful vocals. Good Intentions opens the EP with a sensual flair as she sings about the lust and passion that overwhelms your entire being at the beginning of a relationship with a crawling deep bass and slick guitar solo. Don’t Miss You features more slick guitar work and a throbbing bass line while Liana lets all the toxic people in her life know how she really feels. Slow and minimal, Danger finds the singer bemoaning her inability to stay away from an ex-flame and the tumult that follows when she allows herself to fall back in. Title track Prime Time is an intimate number cradled by a tense synth line and a delicate piano as Liana displays her emotive falsetto. Closer On The Run was the first single released along with a video, and stands apart from the EP with its house vibe and marks Liana’s beginning as an independent artist.
