Originally from California, Bayes is a multi-instrumentalist who taught himself how to produce through Youtube videos and now attends Boston’s Berklee College of Music where he majors in electronic music production and sound design. Last week, the young artist released his first EP titled Too Late which fuses experimental hip hop with jazz and lots of bass. Today, we have the great pleasure of premiering the video for the standout title track.
Ephemeral and serpentine vocals coo from a realm beyond reach like the cold womb of time. A deep throb of bass bellows with dancing percussion in a cosmic swirl of drunken moonlight. Too Late feels transcendent, like it comes from a place where there is no joy, no sorrow, just an undulated sense of loneliness as you as you walk amongst skyscrapers of stars. Lost in the grasp of death as scenes of your life pass through the fingertips of the phantasmal clock and you’re left to stare into the bitter and gnawing liquid mirror and devoured by the fists of love.
Get lost with Too Late and chew on the fat of the universe with the brilliantly designed video by Bayes’ friend and a member of The Surrealist.
