There’s no shortage of brooding R&B/hip hop artists putting out dark woozy music, but Do It by the elusive Eso.XO.Supreme stands out from the uninspiring and mediocre wasteland.
She got the eyes of medusa/ this is the love I’ve been craving/ she got the body of a goddess/ all that she knows misbehavin’
Off his soon to be released Monsters EP, Do It is the final chapter between two lovers struggling with remaining faithful and whether they’re meant for one another. “There is a love that I know/ she’s just lost looking for something/ what is real is this moment/ money and drugs are belongings” he sings, reminding his girl that his love for her is authentic and unwavering. If she leaves him, whatever comes next will be nothing but a disappointment. With the vibrant anthemic hook and minimal soundscape produced by frequent collaborator YoungFrenchy 808, Eso.XO.Supreme’s magnetic vocals call out to you over an ominous sub bass. Do It is irresistible.
I’d recommend not leaving Eso.XO.Supreme and to stay tuned for Monsters, due to drop tomorrow.
