Having covered their first two singles, Toronto trio Closely are ending the year with their third titled, Years.
Written shortly after producer/guitarist Joel Keitner lost his father to pancreatic cancer right before forming Closely, Years is an outpour of synthpop with mournful cries yelling into the abyss of time. Sweeping guitars howl for it to return and to slow to a crawl, but ravenous time shines victorious as this sonic beauty collapses with an abrupt end. Ever fleeting, do not waste this vital resource.
For those in Toronto, catch Closely at The Horseshoe Tavern on January 6.
