The last we heard from Alex Bent + the Emptiness was the vast phenomenal beauty that is Blonde American Girl. Between then and last week, he’s been off working on a video for his first single of the year, Run Like Hell. Here, Bent channels a sinister side of himself to the dark Nine Inch Nails sampled beat (along with Wu-Tang’s C.R.E.A.M and The Princess Bride film) as he follows an ex lover and fantasizes about their final meeting. In an email, Bent explained to us, “The Run Like Hell video is one of my proudest accomplishments. It’s filmed over the course of 2 days in early March, Versa Films went all the way for me. They worked incredibly hard to create a beautiful piece of art to accompany a song I’m very proud of. The video gives further insight into the story told in the song but this time from a different perspective.”
Watch the cinematic video below and look out for Alexander Bent’s upcoming album, Dead, In The Water, expected this summer.
