It’s been nearly a year and a half since Lydia Clowes and Teresa Origone of Bad Honey (fka LVNA) released their “In Limerance” EP but the South East London duo return with Motions.
The first single from their forthcoming EP, Motions is about growing up and giving yourself time to learn, rather than questioning all of your past decisions. A difficult task for many as neurosis gnaws and twists with merciless talons like the swirl, push, and stretch of disco-infused rhythms with a chugging weave of synths. Guiding you through the turmoil is Clowes’ vocals, lush and meditative, enveloped by rich textures and a “hypnotically endless recording of a ping-pong ball rolling around a pot.” Soulful and dreamy, Motions is exhilarating and divine.
Motions and the rest of the 5 track EP were recorded with producer Count Counsellor during a trip to Family Day Recordings on the small Norwegian Island of Søndre Sandøy, providing endless inspiration in the serenity of the surrounding lakes and forests. Having previously performed at The Roundhouse, The Jazz Cafe and Omeara, playing shows with Little Simz and GoGo Penguin, Bad Honey are set to return to the live circuit this April at London’s Paper Dress Vintage, for their EP launch.
