The Drew Thomson Foundation Shares Debut Single “Stay”

Drew Thomson from London, Ontario punk-rock outfit, Single Mothers, is set to release his solo EP titled “Stay” under the new moniker, The Drew Thomson Foundation. Stay is also the first single and while it may be less punk and more alt-country, it’s no less promising.

Stay is exactly as it sounds – a plea for someone to stay instead of banishing their own desperate plea that twisted on their face as you let them walk out the door. “It’s a simple word that can unlock an incredible amount of vulnerability in the person asking it,” explains Thomson. “Unfortunately by the time we have to ask someone to stay, we usually already know the answer. This song is about trying to change the inevitable, too little too late – and having to deal with it.”

Accompanying the short single is a fun little video directed by Vanessa Heins, which you can watch below.

The “Stay” EP is due out on May 11 via Dine Alone Records and is a culmination of Thomson’s experiences focused heavily on family, love, death, excess, and longing
