Over the last decade, Toronto’s Kat Burns has released an extensive body of work including albums with Forest City Lovers, while illustrating for local publications, voice-over work, publishing weekly videos on her Youtube channel, and making ‘folkpoptronica’ under her latest project, KASHKA. Relax, she has not, which just happens to be the title of her new album. From it comes Float Away, a tender drone with stuttering percussion, crunchy textures, and bubbles of muted synths that drift through poignant strings as Burns sincere vocals whisk you from dream to sparkling dream.
