On October 21st, Brainfeeder released the first single from Kneedelus, which fuses the music of Kneebody (a jazz-based quintet) with Daedelus’ production. This will be the third jazz-inspired album released on the label this year (following Kamasi Washington’s The Epic and Thundercat’s The Beyond/Where the Giants Roam).
‘Drum Battle’ has been in Kneebody’s repertoire for several years. This rendition of the tune showcases a unique combination of jazz, rock, and electronic influences, creating a soundscape between the instrumental quintet and Daedelus’ heavy production. The track closes with a drum battle between Kneebody’s Nate Wood, and Daedelus.
