YellowStraps Release EP Title Track “Blame” Ft. VYNK

Following last monthsNights Up, YellowStraps return with another new single from their forthcoming EP, the title track, Blame.

Muted notes bubble with distant vocals and taps of percussion with an enticing allure. VYNK (Lennard Vink) joins the jazzy R&B cut with smooth vocals draped with weary malaise that drifts throughout as brass joins and swells with tired eyes, tired minds, and the flame-ravaged hearts

Speaking of the song, the boys say:

“This song is a story between two people that are deeply in love, but they can’t the compromise they need to make it work – with neither party willing to shoulder their own blame.

All along the song, the narrator keeps on trying to find a solution, but he becomes more and more desperate cause her lover won’t take the blame and admit that everything is going wrong.
It’s an interpretation of how selfish love can sometimes be.

We created this song more than a year ago. It was originally just an idea of a basic beat and chords we had, but we wanted to add something more jazzy and soulful to it. Feature Lennard Vink a.k.a VYNK jammed and recorded jazz piano on the Blame, which was eventually recorded in his hometown of Rotterdam.
