Earlier this year, London-based Marie Dahlstrøm and New York’s JNTHN STEIN linked up in Corsica for one week to record Dahlstrøm’s EP, “Kanel”. The first single, “Ask About Me”, was released last month and the emerging artist now returns with Bring Me Back.
Over a bouncy backdrop with a candelabra of percussive notes that snap and pop, Bring Me Back dances with an infectious fervour while an emotive and indecisive Dahlstrøm reflects over a heartrending decision. Speaking on the single, she says:
“I find it therapeutic to express my emotional state in my songs, using the chords and words to bring what I’m feeling at that present moment to the forefront. ‘Bring Me Back’ is generally about making decisions – whether you should choose to stay with someone or not.”
