I don’t know about you, but I just can’t get enough of that delectable Toronto R&B sound. My latest emerging favourite has to be U.K. born, Toronto-based Vaz. After spending the past few years on that 9 to 5 grind, he’s now focusing all his energy to the music and letting that passion take the reigns.
Matter to Me is his latest release: a warm, intimate track that comes from the heart. A simple bell-like synth creates a gentle atmosphere for Vaz’s sincere and romantic lyrics: “I don’t care about yesterday…It’s me and you here now,” He sings atop binaural effects, effectively bringing the track to new levels of ambience. Sef Kadi’s addition brings a touch of those U.K. roots back in there, making Matter to Me a great fusion of Vaz’s national identities. With more projects on the way, get ready for more Vaz.
