From the first song in, I knew I was going to be in for a ride on Jay Prince’s 4th studio project, Late Summers. The UK-based rapper created a truly superb project that sets him apart as a rarity in the rap scene. Being both a talented rapper and singer, Jay Prince glides through the 11-track mixtape with swift verses, catchy hooks, and album-worthy production.

Late Summers has the perfect blend of Hip Hop and R&B. Listeners get to experience Jay Prince’s melodic range on the song “Last Summer”, and jam to an anthem for those who are independent in their own success on “Mandem”. He also slows it down with old school R&B vibes on “My Side” featuring the vocals of Fabienne, and affirms his faith in himself on “I Believe in You” featuring Mahalia. On the song, he raps, “The inner me was the enemy of my progress, only time told stories of my journey.” The mixtape also features collaborations with Aminé, Avelino, Axlfolie, and Shakka. Prince closes off the album with the lively summer tune, “Peace of Mind” that will have you up on your feet.
