The Eloquent Sounds of Elaquent’s Good Karma

I have always been a fan of Elaquent’s beat tapes. The first album of his that I listened to was 2008’s In Colour Vol.1. I fell in love with his music instantaneously and have picked up every album of his since. Across all of his albums, Elaquent is known for his blend of J Dilla-esque beats with synths reminiscent of classic Nintendo video games. This summer, he has blessed hip-hop fans with another beautiful gem that adds to an impressive discography.

Good Karma begins with its title track which paints an uplifting soundscape using his signature synths. This then feeds into 10 expressive beats that cover a variety of styles ranging from IDM to jazz-influenced tracks.  Highlights include “She Remembers,” “Golly Jeez,”Far Away,” and “Midnight Snacks.”

Good Karma is available for purchase on bandcamp and iTunes.
